Pot Fishing Agency has already managed many wonderful projects. For example:
Passive Fishing Projects in Offshore Wind Farms
Passive Fishing in Offshore Wind Farm Borssele (Multi-Species) We were hired to supervise research trips on the vessel YE-152.
Throughout the year, our team was on board to collect the pots, sort and measure the catch, monitor the haul, and manage the deployment and retrieval of lines at sea.
In collaboration with Eneco and Wageningen Marine Research, we conducted approximately 10 research trips aboard our project vessel WR147 Anna-Lotte. Our mission was to analyze catch types and tag crabs and lobsters, enabling us to track them within the wind farm and eventually develop an economic model.
Passive Fishing for Live Langoustine on Trawl Grounds Commissioned by VISNED/Dutch Fishermen's Union and Wageningen Marine Research, we investigated whether passive fisheries using pots could reduce the bycatch of langoustine on traditional fishing grounds.
Designing Future Creels for Wind Farms
We are actively developing innovative passive fishing methods for wind farms. Our current projects focus on designing new pots for various fisheries, as well as testing different types of nets and ropes to optimize performance.
Jigging in Wind Farm Borssele with the MDV2 Metonia During the jig fishing research phase, we supported all trips by measuring and weighing catches and operating the jig machines. This research aimed to evaluate the potential for catching squid and mackerel using jigging techniques.
